Early next month, the world’s first cross border initiative with smart trucks will take place in Europe. Six truck manufacturers (DAF Trucks, Daimler Trucks, Iveco, MAN Truck & Bus, Scania a Volvo Group) will bring platoons of semi automated trucks to public roads.

Volkswagen Group plans to set up its new truck business close to its Wolfsburg headquarters in Germany, as the carmaker strives to build heavy goods vehicle operations capable of taking on rivals Daimler and Volvo.
